Opera Fantasia
The dreamed opera
Many a listener of this album will ask themselves: How does one come up with the idea of making a dreamed opera performance on the theme of a musical work?
In the context of caring for an elderly person, I found myself in the situation of reading novels to fill the long hours of the day. From Max Eyth to Ludwig Ganghofer to Guido Dieckmann and many other authors, I was able to enjoy numerous fantastic literary works within a short period of time. There were encounters with characters from different eras and statuses: kings and jesters, robbers and noble merchants, wars, battles and peace treaties, intrigues, hatred, friendship and love, all in beautiful landscapes with endless forests, deep gorges, wild waters, castles, in monasteries and secret vaults.
These impressions inspired the evening hours in my studio, and so the music itself became more and more a story with people, landscapes and events.
Although I've worked on this music for a long time, I only know the vague story it tells. So it is left to the imagination and the inner eyes of the listener to enliven the sounds with images and scenes on this album.
